The first step in the post production is one of the most critical yet one of the most ignored and abused. Ingesting, backup, project organization and tagging media for a smooth creative editing experience is often rushed and overlooked but can yield major benefits to the entire creative team.

The importance of preparing media for editing in a collaborative editing environment brings even more challenges as team members must coordinate and share access to creative resources.

In this educational session, we will break down the four stages of prepping media for successful editing:

  1. Backup Raw Footage
  2. Project Setup and Ingest
  3. Metadata Tagging and Organization
  4. Transcoding into Mezzanine Editing CODEC
